Fire-truck-emergency-servA helicopter was dispatched in northeast Iowa to fly a man injured in a kayaking accident to the hospital.

A Platteville, Wisconsin, man was seriously injured while kayaking on the Turkey River in Fayette County over the weekend. According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, 27-year-old Alvin Colson was kayaking Saturday afternoon with his family when he became lodged against a tree and flipped over, hitting his head on rocks. Authorities say Colson was air-lifted from the scene.

The accident happened near Elgin.
