Search continues on the Missouri River for missing Briar Cliff University student

September 6, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

AmbulanceSearchers are back out on the Missouri River this morning looking for a missing student from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City who was last seen swimming in the Missouri River Sunday evening.

Union County South Dakota officials say 23-year-old Tom Patterson from Frostburg, Maryland was swimming across the river with friends near Elk Point, South Dakota when he disappeared. A prayer vigil for Patterson was held at Briar Cliff by students and staff Monday night.
