raba-logoRepublican Senator Chuck Grassley has a 13-point lead over Democratic challenger Patty Judge in a new poll released this morning.

The poll was conducted September 6th, 7th and 8th. It found Grassley with 50 percent support. Judge had 37 percent. The poll was conducted for Simpson College by RABA Research. It’s a new polling firm founded by well-known Republican and Democratic campaign pros from Iowa.

Some recent polls have shown this race in single-digit range. The RABA poll seems to show cross-over appeal for Grassley. Eleven percent of Democrats surveyed said they will vote for him. Grassley had the support of 90 percent of Republicans polled. Judge had the support just 73 percent of Democrats. Grassley led among “self-identified” independent voters by 14 percent.

Grassley had a double-digit lead among voters who do not have a college degree and he led among men by 21 points. Judge trailed Grassley among women voters by eight points.

Managers of the survey also note Grassley is “out-polling” Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. A RABA poll released Monday found Trump with a one point lead over Hillary Clinton in Iowa.
