Iowa State hopes an improved ground game can make even more strides on Saturday when the Cyclones host 13th ranked Baylor in Big-12 play. After getting off to a slow start sophomore Mike Warren rushed for 103 yards in a 44-10 win over San Jose State.
“I feel like I can see the field better in practice”, said Warren. “It all starts with practice and the film room. There was maybe some things I was missing in the film room that I see now.”
Iowa State quarterback Joel Lanning says a confident Warren is a lift for the offense.
“Having Mike playing with confidence is just awesome”, said Lanning. “We have got to keep him rolling because it opens up the passing game for everything else.”
The Cyclones are 1-3. Baylor is 4-0 and opened Big-12 play with a 35-24 victory over Oklahoma State.
