police-car-lightsPrairie City Police and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department hope to get more answers today into Sunday’s apparent murder-suicide.

Two bodies were found at Prairie City residence early yesterday morning. One body was in the house, the other in the garage.

Prairie City Police Chief Joe Bartello says the call came in about a domestic disturbance around 4:15 yesterday morning. Reports claim one other person was at the residence when the deaths occurred.

No information has been released on how the victims died. Chief Bartello says this is an isolated incident and the public should not be concerned about a suspect on the loose.

Autopsies on the two victims, whose names have yet to be released pending notification of all family members, will be done today.

Neighbors say the home’s occupants moved in not too long ago.
