Iowa picked up a much needed win at Minnesota and coach Kirk Ferentz says his team must continue to make progress as they get set for the second half of the season. The Hawkeyes take a 4-2 mark on the road this weekend to Purdue.

“Obviously the clock is running right now and we are running a real tight race”, said Ferentz. “We have only got six weeks left so we are pushing as fast and as hard as we can.”

Iowa is coming off a 14-7 win over the Gophers and a win on Saturday would be a record ninth straight on the road for the Hawkeyes.

“To win on the road you need a team that has got some maturity and they have got to understand what you are trying to accomplish.”

Purdue is 3-2 following an overtime win at Illinois. Boilermaker coach Darrell Hazell says the more college football changes the more Iowa stays the same.

“I have been able to play them since 2004 and they haven’t changed”, said Hazell. “The offensive line is really good blocking the zone and they are doing a good job this year of running power and they don’t turn it over. They play their cover-two shell defense and everybody knows where they are supposed to be. That is why they are so consistent.”
