Names of victims released in Winneshiek County double shooting

October 17, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Crime-scene-300x243The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the two people found shot to death in Freeport Sunday evening.

The department says they responded after receiving numerous calls of shots being fired.  The bodies of 55-year-old Craig Freilinger and 41-year-old Sarah Szabo, both of Decorah, were found when officers arrived on the scene shortly after six p.m.

The Sheriff’s Department says the two were involved in a relationship and had recently broken up. They say they are not looking for any suspects and have no reason to believer the public is in danger.

The bodies have been sent to the state medical examiner for autopsies.
