Police have identified a man who was shot to death last Friday in Ames.
Officers were sent to a home just after 6 a.m. and found 36 year old Harland “Jesse” Cummings of Ames dead from a gunshot wound to the head. People who were at the home at the time of the shooting described it as an accident.
Police say the case remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
