Realtors report increased home sales through September

For-sale-signHome sales and prices are on the rise across the state.

Over the first nine months of this year, the number of homes sold in Iowa rose 4.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

The Iowa Association of Realtors also reports 3,853 homes were sold last month — a 7.5 percent increase over September 2015. The median sale price for a home in Iowa last month was $149,645. That compares to $139,900 one year ago.
