The crash happened around 4 p.m. when a pickup rear-ended a car at the intersection of County Home Road and North Troy Road, pushing that car into another pickup. Five people were inside the car and two died at the scene.

Three others were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s office.
