Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz is confident his team will respond in a positive way this week. Coming off a 41-14 beating at the hands of Penn State the Hawkeyes get ready to host second ranked Michigan.

“Confidence is something you earn”, said Ferentz. “We got hit right on the chin. It has happened before and the whole challenge is to get back on your feet and get back to work.”

In just his second year at Michigan Jim Harbaugh has the Wolverines in the thick of the playoff discussion. They are 9-0 but Harbaugh says their only focus this week is getting ready for the Hawkeyes.

“A very good team that won their division last year”, said Harbaugh. “They have diverse schemes on both sides of the ball.”

Ferentz says the Wolverines are a talented team that has consistently performed at a high level.

“In nine games right now I think they have been behind one time in one game. They have been on their game basically all nine games.”
