November 25, 2016 By Matt Kelley

Police-car-backA young man was killed in a Thanksgiving Day drive-by shooting in Des Moines. Police responded to a convenience store on the city’s east side shortly before 7 p.m. on word that several gunshots had been fired at a group of people standing in the parking lot.

Officers later learned Dabryan Smith, 20, had been taken from the scene by private vehicle to a hospital, where he later died. No one has been arrested in the case. This is Des Moines’ 13th homicide this year.
