Jacob Evans sank a pair of free throws with 20 second remaining in overtime as Cincinnati edged 19th ranked Iowa State 55-54 in Hilton Coliseum. The win snapped the Cyclones 37-game non conference home court winning streak.

“We have just got to be better”, said senior guard Matt Thomas. “Late game was unnaceptable. Credit them they really slowed the game down but we have got to be better.”

The Cyclones came up empty on their final three possessions of overtime.

“Defensively our guys were terrific and they really compete”, said Iowa State coach Steve Prohm. “I have just got to do a better job in our attack and demanding ball reversal and player movement.”

Monte Morris led ISU with 15 points and Thomas added 13 as the Cyclones fall to 5-2.
