The Board of Regents will meet Monday in Ankeny to review an audit of the Iowa State University president’s use of school airplanes.

President Steven Leath’s use of the school planes came into question after it was revealed he damaged a plane in a hard landing in Illinois during a refueling stop.

Subsequent reports questioned the decision of Leath to take family members on some flights, and other questions arose about the university’s rental and purchase of planes.

Bruce Rastetter, the president of the board, said during a meeting in October he was “extremely disappointed” in Leath, and another regent, Subhash Suhai, said he felt Leath had taken the issue “somewhat lightly.”

The meeting notice says the board will discuss the audit of Iowa State University Flight Services records and then hold a closed session to evaluate Leath.
