Iowa State streak in AP Poll ends

For the first time since November of 2013 the Iowa State Cyclones are not ranked in the Associated Press College Basketball Poll. The Cyclones fell from number-25 after a 78-64 loss at Iowa and coach Steve Prohm says his team needs to do a better job of pushing the pace of play.

“When we run our offense and execute we get good shots but our pace of play has to get a lot better”, said Prohm. “That’s the strength of our team so I have got to demand it more and make sure we are staying to that.”

Iowa State had been ranked in 61 straight AP Polls. It was the third longest streak in the nation behind Kansas and Arizona. The Cyclones are 6-3 and return to action against Drake in Des Moines on Saturday night as part of the Hy-Vee Classic.
