Burned body in Davenport identified as Illinois man

Davenport police have determined the identity of a burned body.

A newspaper carrier saw a suspicious fire early Tuesday morning near the street in front of a house in northwest Davenport. When the flames were extinguished, a body was discovered. The victim has now been identified as 35-year-old Brandon Brooks of Rock Island, Illinois. An investigation is ongoing.
