Thirteen cars from this train derailed near Calmar.

A central pacific railroad train derailed in northeast Iowa near Calmar this morning.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s department reports 13 cars containing corn derailed shortly before 8 a.m. The derailment has caused the closure of three county roads.

Company officials hope to make the necessary repairs to the tracks by midnight. No injuries were reported.
