One person was found dead inside a house that burned in southeast Iowa on Sunday.
According to a news release from the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, the home in Mediapolis was fully engulfed in flames when deputies arrived shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday. Authorities have not identified the person located inside the structure. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Investigators say the fire does not appear suspicious, but the exact cause has not been determined.
