A tow truck hauling a dump-style trailer caused more than $27,000 in damage after a crash Monday night in Atlantic.
According to the Atlantic Police Department, a large trailer became detached from a tow truck as it was being pulled on a street Monday night. The trailer rolled downhill and crashed into a parked SUV and a car before it hit a light pole. The trailer finally came to rest after hitting a house, and causing a brief natural gas leak.
The home’s residents safely evacuated while crews worked to shut off the gas. The accident happened at around 8:10 p.m. and there were no injuries reported.
