A Boone man died and two young passengers were injured in an accident there Sunday evening.
Officials say a 2019 Jeep Renegade, driven by 45-year-old Joshua Burns, was driving southbound on Story Street when Burns vehicle went over the curb on the west side of the road, entered into a ditch, before returning to the roadway and crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a 2020 Ford Edge, driven by 27-year-old Jessica Slaton of Madrid.
Burns died at the scene from his injuries, while a three-year-old and a seven-month-old passenger were also injured in the accident. The three-year old was flown by air ambulance to an area hospital and the seven-month-old was transferred by EMS to another area hospital.
