A lawsuit’s been filed over a two-Million-dollar train wreck earlier this month in southeastern Iowa. Some diesel fuel spilled, three people were slightly injured, and a cargo of holiday merchandise including popcorn tins and sneakers headed for department stores went spilling out onto the streets of Fort Madison when two trains had a low-speed collision back on November tenth. The blocked track also delayed an Amtrak passenger train by several hours. One of those injured in the crash was engineer Gary Cordray, who’s now being sued by his employer, the Burlington Northern Santa Fee. The B-N-S-F says he disregarded a train traffic signal and send his locomotive on a track to the collision course with another train. The wreck caused an estimated 2-million-dollars in damage.
