Iowa-based Winnebago Industries has announced layoffs at its factories in Forest City and Charles City. Spokesman Kelly Harms says the layoffs are the result of a “softening” in the RV industry as a whole, and poor sales over the past year. She says company officials will determine the final number of layoffs in three to 4 weeks. At last count, total employment for Winnebago was 3-thousand 831. Winnebago has plants in Forest City, Charles City, Hampton and Lorimor.
