A 40-year-old northern Iowa man is charged with attempted murder for an incident of rage along a rural road that injured three people Tuesday afternoon. Pocahontas County Sheriff Bob Lampe says 40-year-old Richard Guidry of Havelock was arrested on felony charges early this (Wednesday) morning. He’s accused of shooting his wife, Holly, her two-year-old son — Tristan, and 36-year-old Scott Blasey. Tristan’s twin was also in the van, but not injured. Holly Guidry called authorities Tuesday afternoon to say her husband was chasing her minivan north of Pocahontas. Guidry reportedly rammed the minivan, got out and started shooting. He’s accused of firing three rounds from a 12-guage shotgun. The toddler and the man inside the minivan who were wounded are still in a Des Moines hospital. Holly Guidry was also hit, but she was treated and later released from a local hospital last night. Sheriff Lampe says Richard Guidry fled the scene and later was found hiding in a bean field seven miles west of Pocahontas. Authorities say Guidry tried to ditch the gun, but it has been found.
