An alleged drunk driver is on trial in Cedar Rapids, accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian who was eight-and-a-half months pregnant. Today’s the second day in the vehicular homicide trial of Galen Ludvicek of Swisher. Ludvicek is charged with hitting Teresa Osburn in Cedar Rapids as she tried to cross the street with her husband. Widower Robert Osburn testified Monday that all he saw was a blur at the last second as Ludvicek’s pickup truck hit both of them. Teresa Osburn died of her injuries a day after the 2002 accident — after giving birth to a health baby boy. Police say Ludvicek tested at nearly two-and-a-half times the legal blood alcohol limit. If convicted, he could face 25 years in prison.
