A northeast Iowa man is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing his live-in girlfriend earlier this month. 39-year old Rick Devries is being held at the Olmsted County adult detention center in Rochester, Minnesota. 22-year old Rachel Fisher was found dead of a gunshot wound October 18th at their farmhouse in north Washington, northwest of New Hampton. Devries reportedly ran to a neighbor’s home with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for treatment. Devries was arrested Saturday and Chickasaw County attorney Pat Wegman said more details are expected Monday afternoon. It’s not known when Devries will be extradited back to Iowa.
