A Linn County sheriff’s deputy has died from injuries suffered in a car accident that was not related to his job. 51-year-old Robert Johnson died at a Cedar Rapids hospital Thursday. His death was somewhat of a surprise as he had shown improvement since being injured September 3rd. Johnson was off duty when he lost control of his S-U-V near Central City and it rolled. Johnson was a 22-year veteran of the Linn County Sheriff’s Department.
