The 92nd Drake Relays begin tomorrow morning in Des Moines with day one of the multi-events. Panora native Kip Janvrin returns looking for a 12th decathlon title. Last summer, Janvrin became the oldest U-S athlete to take part in the Olympics when he finished 21st at the Sydney Games. Janvrin says after making the Olympic team he feels his career is complete. Janvrin admits at 35 years of age his career is on the downhill slope.Janvrin says while his best days are behind him he still enjoys the competition.Janvrin says the decathlon is unique in that while it is a competition the athletes also try to encourage one another.The decathlon will conclude on Thursday afternoon.
