Governor Vilsack says by week’s end, key state officials should have somepreliminary suggestions to respond to the case in Spirit Lake which left atwo-and-a-half year old beaten to death — after previous abuse had beenreported to officials.Democrat Senators this morning demanded an apology from a republican Senatorwho suggested Vilsack recently revealed his own abuse as a child to deflectattention from the Spirit Lake incident. Vilsack says he doesn’t want to talk about it and wants to move forward.Vilsack says state agencies are responding appropriately to the matter.
