A Chinese woman living in the Quad Cities is being told not to try and relieve people’s pain by sticking needles in their bodies. Hun-Po Koo studied acupuncture in China and practiced in Sweden but has done so illegally in Davenport since moving there four years ago to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. The Iowa Board of Medical Examiners says she has to take a certification test that’s not offered in Iowa and is only offered nationwide three times a year.
