The U-S Food and Drug Administration is warning doctors to not overprescribe drugs used to fight the flu. A Des Moines doctor says there are two drugs now being used against the flu epidemic.Dr. Gregory Peterson, of Mercy Medical Center, says the drugs don’t cure the flu, but they do make it less severe.Peterson says the best way to prevent getting the flu is a flu shot.He says the flu drugs have proven to be effective even if they aren’t given to patients right away.Peterson says you should check with your doctor if you think you’re getting the flu and might need the flu drugs.
