Parents across Iowa often have to take a day off if their kid is sick, butno longer in Mason City. The Charlie Brown Pre-School and Child Care Centeris offering a unique-to-Iowa service for “mildly-ill” children. Centerexecutive director Liz Austin says the “Get Well Center” will be staffedwith licensed nurses in an effort closely-watched by state administrators.Austin says kids with common illnesses will be accepted into isolation areaswithin the center.She says this is the first center of its kind in the state to be opened by alicensed child care center.The center is open to the public for kids six weeks to 12 years of age,Monday through Friday from 7:30 a-m to 5:30 p-m.
