The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is 20 years old — and the group’smembers hope Iowans help celebrate the landmark by participating in “TrailsDay” events. Fifteen events are planned around the state today.That’s Cathy Engstrom, a spokeswoman for the Iowa Natural HeritageFoundation. She says the group’s goal is to help protect Iowa’s landscape.Engstrom says in its 20 years of existence, the Iowa Natural HeritageFoundation has helped protect 50-thousand acres of Iowa land.The group is also involved in promoting trails and greenways around thestate.
