While there is sweeping concern about a rabies outbreak stemming from anortheastern Iowa petting zoo, the Quad City area is watchful for rabies fora different reason. Dr. Lewis Katz, medical director of the Scott County Health Department, saysbats are causing more people to get rabies vaccines in the Davenport areathan the petting zoo bear.Only one Quad Citian is being treated for exposure to the rabid bear butthree are being treated for exposure to bats.
