The president of Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo has resigned. BillHersteen’s resignation comes just three days before an appeal on hissuspension. The trustees suspended Heersteen with pay and voted to fire himin August citing a lack of leadership and communication. Hersteen declinedto comment on his resignation saying he had come to a settlement thatprohibited him from saying anything about the situation. Hersteen’sresignation does not take effect until December 1st, but he has agreed tonot perform any duties as the head of the college.
