Former G-O-P presidential candidate Lamar Alexander today endorsed George W. Bush’s bid for the White House. Alexander says Bush’s performance has been steady, solid and presidential thus far in the campaign.Alexander exited the race in August, saying he would not endorse another candidate — and Alexander said Bush was being annointed before a single vote was cast. Alexander says it was something he said during the campaign and he changed his mind after seeing that Bush “had it.”Alexander says Bush has the temperment and the executive experience as Governor of Texas to be the next President.Alexander says Bush is the best candidate to win the White House back for Republicans.Alexander, like Gore, is from Tennessee. Alexander was Governor of that state and a former U-S Education Secretary.
