Many Iowans can get free help from the experts in filling out and filing their state and federal income tax returns. Nine state Revenue & Finance offices statewide are offering free tax services to Iowans in certain income brackets. There’s also free electronic filing for faster processing and a faster refund check, if you have one coming. Revenue Department spokeswoman Renee Mulvey says the experts can streamline the process. The service is available to people with a gross income of 30-thousand dollars or less, either married filing jointly or single. Besides bringing in all of your financial information & proof of I-D, Mulvey says e-filers will have to show Social Security cards for each person listed on the return. To find the state revenue office nearest to you and the hours, call 800-367-3388. There are offices in: Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Mason City, Ottumwa and Sioux City. Not all of them offer the same range of services.
