The remains of a northeast Iowa man who died in World War Two will finally be laid to rest this weekend. 24-year-old Raymond Drewelow of New Hampton died when his bomber was shot down over New Guinea on March 5, 1944. His body, and those of his crewmates, were found 10 years ago. The remains were sent to the Army lab in Hawaii for identification, but a backlog kept them from making identification until February of last year. Drewelow’s family was notified in September that they could make funeral plans. The services are this Saturday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hampton.
