Fire struck several Main Street businesses last night in a small town in northeast Iowa. The blaze apparently started at the Welcome Inn, a restaurant in downtown Arlington. The eatery was destroyed and several surrounding businesses were badly damaged. The fire is said to be suspicious in origin but the cause has not yet been released. At least nine fire departments from other Fayette County towns responded.
