A member of Ireland’s Parliament this morning offered sympathy to Iowa and the nation for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.Dan Neville is in Iowa this week, a special guest at Emmetsburg’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Neville says the Irish empathize with Americans who were shocked by terrorism on their own soil.Neville says the tragedy of terrorism has been commonplace in Ireland for the past 30 years, but there are signs of hope.Neville says he never thought he’d see peace in his lifetime. Neville says the interest the American government and Presidents Clinton and Bush have taken in the peace process was vital to its success. Neville spoke this morning in the Iowa Statehouse.
