A woman from the eastern Iowa town of Riverdale is charged with siphoning off pain medication that was supposed to go to nursing home patients. 47-year-old Monica Forbes faces 21 charges, including fraud, theft and neglect. Authorities say the incidents took place in February at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. They say Forbes allegedly tampered with patches that dispense pain medication. Before going to work at Eagle Point, Forbes worked at Manor Care Nursing Home in Davenport. Police investigated similar tampering incidents there but no charges were filed.
