Waterloo West high school has a new head football coach. Doug Gee will replace JonDen Hartog who left to coach at a suburb in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Gee has been in coaching for eleven years, spending nine as a head coach in Iowa and Wisconsin. His most recent job was at North Tama where in four years he compiled a record of 32-11 and guided the Redhawks to two playoffappearances. He’s been out of coaching the last two years. Gee looks forward to working with next year’s senior class at West. Gee says that his squad will stress fundamentals and work to get the kids to believe in the system.The Wahawks return four starters on offense and five on defense from last year’s team that went 5-4.
