It was a bittersweet ending to the football season for UNI. The Panthers finished the season with six straight wins after starting 1-4 but did not qualify for the one-double-a national playoffs. Panther coach Mark Farley felt his team was playing as well as anybody at the end of the season. But he says it’s just like the BCS championship, you can’t go 10-1 and say you played hard at the end.Farley is looking forward to next season. The Panthers return nine starters on offense. He says as much as he’s disappointed, he’s excited to know the players are coming back that led the 6-0 finish to this season.
