One person was critically injured in a car-bus accident north of Decorah Tuesday. The accident happened on Highway 52 about four p.m. A car driven by 33-year-old John Luokkanen of Adams, Minnesota crossed the center line and collided head-on with a North Winneshiek school bus driven by 61-year-old Phyllis Blaess of Decorah. There were 13 students on the bus at the time, none of them were seriously injured. One student was taken to the Decorah hospital by a parent. The bus driver was also treated. Luokkanen, the driver of the car was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, where he is in critical condition.
