Bill Bradley campaigns in Iowa

March 3, 1999 By admin

The lone democrat to challenge Vice President Al Gore for the party’s next presidential nomination says it’s time to put the Lewinsky scandal in thepast. During a Tuesday afternoon news conference in Des Moines, former New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley said he won’t question Gore about the scandal during the campaign. Bradley said Iowans are open to a two-person race, and campaigning from coffee shop to coffee shop is easier than communicating through 30-second commercials. Bradley believes Americans are feeling a certain sense of insecurity about the economy and the future of their job.
