Legislator wants child bikers to wear helmets

March 11, 1999 By admin

A bill which would force kids under age 14 to wear a helmet while they’re biking has cleared the Senate Transporation Committee. Senator Matt Mc-Coy, a democrat from Des Moines, says the move may save families the heart-ache of a child’s head injury. Mc-Coy wears a helmet when he bikes. The bill, which won unanimous committee approval, now goes before the full Senate.
