Planning council seeks input on Iowa’s future

A group of 37 Iowans will start putting together a plan later this month tolead the state of Iowa into the next century. Governor Tom Vilsack hasappointed Des Moines cable tv executive David Oman to head the strategicplanning council. Oman says they plan to talk with all Iowans.The planning effort is called “Iowa 2010: The state of our future.” Vilsackhas charged the group with looking at all aspects of the state and Oman saysthere will be no “sacred cows.” He says they want anyone with an idea to contact the council.Oman says one of the best ways to get ahold of the council is to send ane-mail at [email protected] says they should have a report ready for the governor about this timenext year.
