Senator Grassley seeks money for Iowa meth fight

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is asking Congress for nearly 400-thousanddollars to pay for two programs to fight methamphetamine in Iowa. The firstfunding request would put 173-thousand dollars into the Meth Education MobileLearning Center.Grassley is also asking for 217-thousand dollars to pay for the overtime,training, transportation and other fees associated with adding five newagents to a special state meth task force that aims to ferret out meth labs& makers.As many as 170 methamphetamine labs have been found by passersby or lawofficers so far this year statewide. That’s more than three times the numberfound by this date last year.
