City of Clear Lake wants help in cleaning lake

The City of Clear Lake is asking the Cerro Gordo County Supervisors tocontribute 100-thousand dollars toward ongoing efforts to clean up ClearLake. High levels of bacteria have plagued the lake in recent months. CityAdministrator Tom Lincoln says the city wants the county to help pay for astudy of the lake. Lincoln also asked the supervisors to contribute55-thousand dollars to install filters in the storm drains around ClearLake. He says it’s a new technology.Lincoln says county land surrounds 47-percent of the lake. Lincoln saysseveral groups are coming together to improve the lake.The Cerro Gordo County Supervisors say they will study the request beforemaking any final decision.
