Group offers training for grassroot politicians

A public policy group will hold what it calls a “school for grassrootsactivists” in central Iowa this weekend. The Virginia-based LeadershipInstitute is holding a two-day workshop for Iowans who want to becomepolitical candidates, campaign staff members or civic project leaders:Mark Montini is Vice President of the Institute, which is a non-profiteducational foundation. He says the activists’ school aims to give Iowans aboost toward their political goals.Montini says the Institute supports NO political parties or candidates andall sorts of people are welcome at the school under its open admissionspolicy.
