Des Moines looks at hosting Big Twelve events

With the Big-12 Conference looking for new homes for its post seasontournaments Des Moines has thrown its hat in the ring to host two of them,baseball and basketball. Of the two, I-S-U Athletic Director Gene Smith saysbaseball is Des Moines’ best shot.Smith says if Des Moines gets the baseball tournament it would give theCyclone program a boost.The tournament is currently played in Oklahoma City.
